Since updating to Mac OS Catalina my original Photoshop no longer works, (32bit installer) not wanting to purchase a monthly subscription I went this way and got Photoshop Elements. It is a dumbed down version of Photoshop.Had trouble installing and registering, the product an called Adobe. Photoshop elements 11 is 32 bit not 64 bit on either mac or windows. To get a 64 bit version of photoshop elements on the mac side you would need photoshop elements 12 or newer, preferably photoshop elements 2019 for best compatibility with new macs. Disable Adobe Product Improvement Program: Adobe applications normally query the user for feedback on a regular basis. This query is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that products meet user needs. Deploy to Default Application Directory: Adobe Photoshop Elements is installed in the Applications directory.

Older versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements contain some 32bit components which were not designed to work on macOS 10.15 Catalina. Older Elements versions were released prior to the Catalina OS release, which was released in October 2019.
Adobe recommends that customers using older versions of Photoshop Elements or Premiere Elements (versions 2019 or earlier) DO NOT upgrade to macOS 10.15 Catalina.
If you have installed the Elements products and have not upgraded to macOS 10.15 Catalina, the Elements products will function normally.
